GHACEM was founded by the Government of Ghana in collaboration with Norcem AS of Norway on August 30, 1967. GHACEM has factories at Tema and Takoradi and several millions of dollars have lately been invested in expansion at both factories. These expansion works have improved the quality of GHACEM cement, reduced energy consumption at the plants, ensured efficient production and reduced environmental impact of the plants operations. GHACEM has been used for construction of big and small projects, such as the Tema Harbour, Takoradi Harbour, Akosombo Dam, Adomi Bridge, Tema Motorway, Kotoka International Airport, Aboadze Thermal Plant, West African Gas concrete piping, and many other residential buildings in the country which have stood the test of time.

Since the privatization of fertilizer import by the Ghana government, Wienco has been a key importer of fertilizers into the country. The objective of the company is to be a trusted, reliable, efficient and reasonably priced marketer of agricultural inputs and outputs.
