BIRDS OF GHANA BOOK LAUNCH
The first ever “Field Guide to the Birds of Ghana” was launched on Friday, 22nd July, 2011 at the Accra Conservation Education Centre of the Ghana Wildlife Society (GWS). This was as a result of a collaborative effort between BirdLife International, BirdLife Switzerland (Ala) and the Ghana Wildlife Society (BirdLife Partner in Ghana)
The book which is the first of its kind is authored by Nik Borrow and Ron Demey, with contributions on Ghanaian Local names by Dr. Erasmus H. Owusu and Prof. Yaa Ntiamoa-Baidu with technical assistance from David Daramani, Augustus Asamoah, Robert Oteng-Apau and Ali Nuoh. Hon. Henry Ford Kamel, the deputy Minister for lands and natural resources officially launched the book and urged all to support Birdwatching as a tourism tool in Ghana.
