KAKUM NATIONAL PARK

Kakum, near Cape Coast, is popular for its canopy walkway, the first in Africa. Together with the adjacent Assin-Attanso Resource Reserve, it covers a total area of 360 sq. km of moist rain forest. The canopy walkway, which opened in 1995 enables visitors to observe the tree-top habitats of canopy-dwelling animals including flying squirrels and bush babies.
